Job Description:

• Deliver online instruction in Microbiology through accelerated eight-week courses using the Canvas Learning Management System
• Develop and maintain course materials, including lectures, lecture notes, learning objectives, PowerPoint presentations, syllabi, and assessments
• Design and administer examinations and other assessments to evaluate student learning and achievement of course objectives
• Create an engaging and supportive online learning environment through innovative instructional methods and effective teaching practices
• Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and timely feedback to students
• Participate in curriculum development, review, and evaluation to maintain instructional quality and program effectiveness
• Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to support academic goals and student success
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Applied Genetics
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Applied Genetics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote instructional environment
• Proficiency with technology and digital tools used in online education
• Previous experience teaching in an online or asynchronous learning environment preferred
• Experience using Canvas or a comparable Learning Management System preferred
• Experience teaching accelerated courses at the graduate level preferred
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging online instructional materials and assessments preferred
• Successful final applicants must undergo a criminal history record check and, when appropriate, financial and/or motor vehicle history checks
