Strong listening and clear communication are the abilities that matter most in this role. You do not need an insurance background or a specific degree to begin. As a Business Associate, you work directly with clients to help them understand and select benefits that fit their situation. Your day involves a mix of scheduled appointments, outreach to new prospects, and follow-up with existing clients. You build relationships over time and become a trusted point of contact. What you do each day: Present benefits options to clients during scheduled phone or video appointments Follow up with prospects who have expressed interest but have not yet enrolled Research client needs and prepare for each conversation with relevant plan information Maintain accurate records of all client interactions and enrollment progress Connect clients to licensed agents for policy binding and complex coverage questions Develop your skills as a contractor while building client relationships and increasing your income potential. Onboarding covers product knowledge, client communication, and the tools you use daily. Ongoing coaching helps you take on more responsibility as your experience grows.
