Role Description The Cloud Engineer (Remote, Entry-Level) at NEW START IA will support the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based environments and services. This part-time remote role involves assisting with provisioning resources, monitoring system performance, and helping troubleshoot issues across cloud infrastructure. Typical tasks include implementing basic configurations, updating documentation, supporting automation scripts, and collaborating with senior engineers on small projects and operational tasks. The Cloud Engineer will also help maintain secure, reliable environments by following established standards and participating in routine reviews and system checks.

Qualifications

Foundational Software Development skills, including understanding of programming concepts and ability to work with scripts or simple applications. Knowledge of Infrastructure principles, such as networking basics, virtual machines, and storage management in a cloud context. Basic experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), including creating and managing core services. Comfort working with Linux environments, including command-line usage, basic system administration, and troubleshooting. Understanding of Databases, including relational database concepts, basic queries, and data management best practices. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tools and technologies. Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote, distributed team. Relevant coursework, certifications, or internship experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field is beneficial.
