Empact Technologies is a fast-growing AI-native compliance and risk management platform serving the energy and infrastructure sectors. We help clean energy developers and infrastructure builders unlock billions in IRA tax credits and other federal/state incentives by automating complex labor compliance workflows like prevailing wage, domestic content, and FEOC reporting. Empact is expanding beyond clean energy into broader infrastructure risk and compliance markets, including data center development, public works, and supply chain risk management. We are on a hyper-growth trajectory with ambitious goals. The Role We are seeking an experienced Controller to build a finance organization designed for rapid growth. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with Senior Leadership and all departments, the Controller will own the company's close, reporting, forecasting, and controls, and help shape the financial management of a scaling AI SaaS start-up. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader with a proven track record in SaaS and professional services businesses. You will implement scalable systems, improve margins and cash performance, and build the finance team over time. Candidates should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working with limited oversight and direction.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable financial processes, systems, and controls for a high-growth SaaS company. Lead the monthly and quarterly close, financial reporting, and audit readiness. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team over time. Drive cash performance through AR collections strategy, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization. Prepare financial materials for board meetings, capital raises, and investor diligence. Support tax filings, payroll, and compliance documentation related to IRA tax credits and other reporting requirements. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support scale. Build and own financial dashboards (e.g., ARR, CAC, LTV, margins, etc.) and ensure data integrity across systems. Partner with the Compliance Services team to monitor project-level profitability, evaluate delivery efficiency, and identify opportunities to reduce costs. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years in finance/accounting with progressive leadership experience. Background in SaaS and professional services businesses. Demonstrated success improving unit economics, cash flow, and financial scalability. Track record of cross-functional collaboration to align financial outcomes with operational performance. CPA required.

Preferred Qualifications

Big 4 public accounting experience. MBA or equivalent advanced financial training. Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) for subscription and services revenue. Prior technology start-up experience. Openness to using AI tools to improve finance and accounting workflows.
