Role Type: Corporate Trainer FEMA Public Assistance and Disaster Recovery Location: Remote Experience: Up to 15yrs Role Overview: We are seeking a detail oriented, analytical Corporate Trainer with mandatory FEMA public assistance and disaster recovery experience to join our fast-paced operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end grants lifecycle, ensuring strict compliance with federal and state guidelines, validating complex financial data, and executing meticulous document reviews. Required Qualifications & Technical Skills: Mandatory Experience: 5–10+ years of direct, hands-on experience supporting FEMA Public Assistance (PA), DHS, or related federal emergency management programs. Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Index/Match, conditional logic (IF statements), text cleaning functions (TRIM, CLEAN), and data filtering/slicing. Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to handle large datasets, perform variance and data-quality checks, and resolve conflicting information within regulatory frameworks. Communication & Documentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting professional review findings, discrepancy reports, and SOP documentation.

Key Responsibilities

FEMA Grants & Compliance: Support pre award and post award operations for federal disaster recovery programs, translating complex FEMA policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) into daily review workflows. Document & Data Validation: Review applicant records, cross-reference supporting documentation against federal standards, conduct completeness and accuracy checks, and identify discrepancies or missing data. Financial Reconciliation & Analysis: Reconcile claimed versus validated amounts, perform variance analysis, detect duplicates, and leverage advanced Excel tools to build validation trackers and exception flags. Issue Resolution & Escalation: Troubleshoot standard operational issues, perform root-cause analysis, and document clear escalation notes for senior leadership. Quality Control & Standard Work: Adhere to quality control guidelines, maintain accurate audit trails, and contribute to continuous process improvement and SOP updates.
