Court Reporter, Transcriptionist – Contracted
Job Description:
- Transcribe court proceedings, trials, and depositions from audio recordings
- Accurately identify speakers and capture all spoken content in strict verbatim format
- Apply quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court formatting rules
- Demonstrate understanding of legal terminology, colloquy, and court-specific language
- Manage 1–3 day turnaround times, allowing a minimum of 1 day per 1 hour of assigned audio
- Meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
Requirements:
- Proven experience transcribing court proceedings, trials, and depositions with adherence to court formatting rules
- Ability to distinguish and format Q&A and colloquy format
- Knowledge of QA, colloquy, legal terminology, and court formatting rules
- Competence using transcription software and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to undergo a skills assessment test
- Availability to transcribe a minimum of 1.5–2 audio hours per day
- Windows 10 or 11

- Ability to meet 1–3 day turnaround times
- Expected availability of 20–25 hours per week
