CPA Tax Strategist The CPA Tax Strategist works directly with clients to develop proactive tax strategies, prepare tax returns, manage tax compliance, and provide quarterly tax projections and ongoing advisory support. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who enjoys working with small business owners and wants to expand beyond traditional tax preparation into tax planning and advisory services. Additional tax planning training will be provided. Anticipated start date: Early December 2026

Responsibilities

Develop and implement proactive tax strategies for clients. Prepare accurate individual and business tax returns. Manage tax compliance and research tax issues as needed. Prepare quarterly tax projections and communicate anticipated tax liabilities. Identify business structuring and tax-saving opportunities. Provide ongoing advisory support to business owners. Communicate directly with clients regarding tax planning and compliance. Work with Drake Tax, QuickBooks, and financial planning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA designation required. 2+ years of tax preparation and/or tax planning experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience preparing individual and business tax returns. Strong understanding of federal tax regulations and tax research. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and client communication skills. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of client relationships. Comfortable participating in regular Zoom and occasional in-person client/team meetings.
