Responsibilities

Design logical and physical data models for supply chain products and the VALIP lakehouse (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog). Design databases for migrations to VA sites and the cloud. Set data governance, quality, lineage and access standards in line with VA data policy. Tune performance across SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres and Databricks. Senior: database administration, backups, patching and environment refreshes.

Qualifications

Senior / Lead: 10+ years of experience, including 7+ years in data architecture or engineering. Mid-level / Level II / “Journeyman”: 5+ years in database administration or data engineering. Hands-on Databricks/Spark and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres). Desired Skills Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and lakehouse design. IBM Maximo data and deployments. VA data governance and federal health data. Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field. Certified (Maximo) Deployment Professional; Certified SAFe Architect. Databricks Certified Data Engineer; Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer. Clearance Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential. Location Remote, USA. Pay Range The suggested pay for this position ranges from $120,546 to $135,875. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
