About the Role

Matson is seeking an Office Data Entry Specialist for a casual, union position. The role supports several office and operational functions, including accounting, payroll, customer service, gatehouse operations, file room activities, and the rates department. Additional office duties may be assigned as needed. This position requires flexibility and the ability to learn different areas of the operation. Casual employees currently work 40 hours per week; however, hours are not guaranteed. The current hourly pay rate is $24.25 and will increase in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Casual employees receive contributions to the Pension and Health and Welfare plans, along with one week of vacation after one year of employment. Matson also hires permanent employees from its casual workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Perform office tasks across departments, including accounting, payroll, customer service, gatehouse, file room, and rates Provide professional and courteous customer service Read and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each assigned operational area Handle multiple tasks and perform different functions throughout the day Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when completing assigned work Work collaboratively with team members Take responsibility for individual performance and ask questions when clarification is needed Adapt to changing assignments and learn different aspects of the operation

Required Qualifications

Previous experience in an office position Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to follow directions Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card Ability to maintain membership in the Union

Preferred Qualifications
