Device Engineer (Remote) Location: 100% Remote Full Time / Direct-Hire Salary: $100K - $130K plus bonus Summary: The Device Engineer will work with Product Management and other Engineers to design, develop, and maintain network device integration software. Our client is a network security company focused on firewall policy control for the hybrid enterprise. They help organizations manage and analyze security policy across multi-vendor firewalls, cloud networks, and micro-segmentation environments with real-time change visibility, risk analysis, automation, and continuous compliance. Responsibilities: Develop support for emerging next-generation technologies in the networking security space Develop device integration solutions for products from Palo Alto, Juniper, Checkpoint, and others Gather technical requirements for integrating with the security devices through administrator guides, user guides, CLI guides, and other available resources Learn the inner workings of the security device and convert that logic into a structure that the application can use Work closely with the sales engineering team to prioritize device pack development based on the needs of prospects and customers in the APAC region Occasionally participate in customer and support calls to understand and troubleshoot device-related issues Required Skills and Experience Proficient Java coding skills, including an understanding of optimization, performance ramifications of coding decisions, and object-oriented design Scripting expertise in either BASH or Python programming languages Linux and general command-line experience Experience with and working knowledge of Maven, SQL, JUnit, XML/XSLT, RESTful web services, and logback/log4j preferred Expertise in networking (Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Palo Alto, etc.) Regex experience Able to pick apart software, analyze it and become a subject matter expert on it Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple roles and demonstrate high emotional intelligence Flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks Possess a positive attitude and work well with others
