Role Description The Director of Communications Technology is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the strategy, implementation, and optimization of communication tools and channels. This role directs the development of integrated communications plans, manages media outreach, and ensures consistent messaging across press releases, digital platforms, and public-facing materials. The director collaborates with leadership and cross-functional teams to align communication strategies with organizational objectives, enhance brand visibility, and manage responses to emerging issues. Daily responsibilities include supervising communications staff or vendors, analyzing performance metrics, maintaining media relationships, and ensuring that technology solutions support efficient, accessible communication. The role also involves setting standards and guidelines for communications, monitoring trends, and recommending new tools and practices to improve reach and engagement.

Qualifications

Strong strategic communications skills, including Strategic Communications and Communication, with the ability to align messaging to organizational goals. Experience in Public Relations and Media Relations, including developing and maintaining relationships with media outlets and stakeholders. Ability to create and manage Press Releases as part of broader communication campaigns. Proficiency with modern communications technologies, digital platforms, and analytics tools. Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing projects, teams, or external vendors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to clarity, tone, and consistency. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a remote environment. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial. Experience in crisis communications, change management, or reputation management is an advantage.
