Open role
Diwali GRWM Content Creator
Job Description
Are you a UAL student who loves creating social media content and sharing your personal style? We’re looking for a creative content creator to produce a fun, authentic “Get Ready With Me” (GRWM) style video celebrating Diwali and exploring what it’s like to live and study at UAL in London.
You’ll be getting ready for Diwali, showcasing your festive outfit, makeup and accessories while chatting about your experience as a UAL student in London. We want to capture the excitement of celebrating an important cultural festival, the experience of being away from home, and the friendships and communities you can build at UAL.
We’d love to hear from students who celebrate Diwali or have a personal connection to the festival and would enjoy sharing their perspective. If you love being on camera, storytelling and creating engaging short-form video content, read on to learn more!
What’s involved?
You’ll create a short, vertical GRWM video (60 secs) documenting your Diwali preparations, combining the process of getting ready with a relaxed, conversational insight into student life at UAL.
We’re looking for content that feels personal, warm, vibrant and relatable, rather than overly polished or scripted. You’ll have the opportunity to share your own perspective, whether that’s reflecting on celebrating Diwali away from home, finding your creative community, or embracing your cultural identity while studying in London.
The video will feature you getting ready in a festive outfit, incorporating makeup, jewellery and accessories as appropriate to your personal style and celebrations, before revealing your finished look. The getting ready process will be part of the video itself, rather than a separate modelling or photography shoot.
You’ll be responsible for filming your content and assembling your clips into a complete, short video. You’ll also need to provide all your original, unedited footage so our team can make any additional edits needed before publication.
You’ll need to provide your own festive outfit, makeup, jewellery and accessories. Some simple Diwali-themed props will be provided to help create a festive setting.
The finished video will be published across UAL’s official social media channels to engage prospective students and give them an authentic insight into student life.
Important timing: Filming will take place during the week commencing 2 November, with the assembled video and all raw footage required by Thursday 5 November. This will allow time for internal review, editing and publication ahead of Diwali on Sunday 8 November.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, film and assemble a short, engaging GRWM style video in portrait format (9:16), suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- Feature yourself getting ready in a festive outfit, incorporating your own makeup, jewellery and accessories as appropriate to your personal style and Diwali celebrations.
- Speak naturally to camera, sharing your own experiences and perspectives on Diwali, student life and living in London.
- Capture a variety of shots, including the getting ready process, outfit details and your finished look.
- Edit and assemble your clips into a complete video with a natural, engaging flow.
- Ensure footage is well framed, steady and clearly audible, with suitable lighting and sound quality.
- Attend a brief online briefing with the content manager to discuss the concept, filming arrangements and deliverables.
- Submit both the assembled video and all original, unedited video clips and supporting audio files by Thursday 5 November 2026.
- Make any agreed minor adjustments following feedback from the content manager, within the agreed timeline.
