This position exists to manage District 1’s signal systems, lighting systems, various warning flashers, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Gopher State locating. Responsibilities include all aspects of scoping, designing, operating, and maintaining the systems. Why MnDOT? Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years of advanced para-engineering experience at the Engineering Specialist level (or equivalent) that demonstrates all the following: Experience with traffic control, signal design, lighting design, and/or traffic engineering standards, including familiarity with manuals and guidelines used by MnDOT or by other transportation agencies, consultants, or city/county engineering departments. Experience applying traffic engineering principles and standards. Experience designing and operating signal, lighting, and ITS systems. Valid Class D Driver’s License.
