One of The Sage Group’s top clients is looking for an Events Public Affairs Associate , from the tech industry. The client provides autonomous automotive technology, which combines specialized hardware and deep-learning AI. The client Public Affairs team has a front seat in this exciting moment in the evolution of autonomous vehicles, transportation and tech. Successful navigation of the public affairs landscape is critically important to deploying and scaling our business. Our team works directly with third party groups at the national, state and local levels to educate folks on the safety benefits of the technology and advance customer awareness and acceptance. Internally, our efforts support the innovative work of engineering, product, strategy, and partnerships teams, and we work closely with our marketing, communications and policy team colleagues. Description: Serve as an Events Public Affairs Associate to attend events and manage relationships with influential community organizations in the Pacific Northwest In this role, you’ll: Help manage relationships with influential community organizations and (non-elected) stakeholders across the Pacific Northwest to establish trust and understanding of client’s autonomous driving technology before and after service launch Represent client at community events: this includes coordinating local sponsorships, managing event logistics, attending - and in some cases delivering remarks - on behalf of the company Work in close partnership with the communications, marketing, operations and public policy teams to ensure all work is grounded in research and supports business needs Demonstrate ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and scalable action plans Regional travel up to 25% of the time At a minimum, we’d like you to have: BA/BS degree 5+ years of public affairs, non-profit or marketing experience (in-house or agency) External relationship building experience Planning and executing in-person events, including onsite setup and breakdown, for community engagement Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Ability to make sound judgments with sensitivity and deftness Solution-oriented approach to problems. Excellent personal, analytical and communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Experience managing agency support Eager to learn, willing to roll up your sleeves High level of emotional intelligence and empathy towards vulnerable populations (seniors, people with disabilities etc.) Location: 100% remote, must live in New Jersey or Philadelphia to cover those regions for local events Duration: 1 year to start plus extension and contract to hire potential Compensation: $60-75hr
