Key Responsibilities - Federal Grants Budget Allocation Consultant

• Review and finalize annual budget allocations across multiple federal grants
• Validate salary, benefits, occupancy, and square-footage allocation methodologies
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of allocations used for grant reporting and audit support
• Analyze funding distribution across departments, locations, and budget categories
• Partner with finance leadership to resolve allocation questions and verify supporting documentation
• Review financial data and allocation models to identify discrepancies and recommend corrections
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage and validate complex budgeting calculations

Qualifications - Federal Grants Budget Allocation Consultant

• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA highly preferred but not required
• Required experience with federal grant budgeting, reporting, and cost allocation
• Required nonprofit accounting or nonprofit finance experience
• Controller-level, CFO-level, or equivalent senior finance leadership background
• Strong proficiency in Excel and complex financial allocation models
• Ability to work independently and manage project-based assignments in a remote environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting audits and preparing documentation for compliance reviews
• Consulting or project-based finance experience highly preferred
