About The Role Jobrapido is presenting a remote opportunity for a C++ Developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of production software in a game-development or closely related client or engine environment. You will work with a mature codebase, investigate complex issues, and deliver user-facing functionality that is reliable, performant, accessible, and easy to use. This role calls for an engineer who can take ownership from initial investigation through implementation, testing, and resolution. You will examine issues that may involve user-interface state, local storage, network or service responses, content metadata, and platform-specific behavior. Success requires sound technical judgment, careful debugging, and clear communication with engineering and non-engineering partners. Location: Remote Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $80,000–$90,000. Actual compensation may vary based on location and market conditions, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will bring professional experience delivering production software using modern C++. C++20 is preferred, and C++14 is the minimum expected standard. Professional experience in game development, or in a closely related game-client or engine environment, is required. You should also have experience debugging and maintaining a large, established codebase. You are comfortable investigating defects that cross application layers and platform boundaries, and you approach user-facing work with attention to reliability, performance, accessibility, and usability. Strong ownership, organization, and follow-through are important, as is the ability to communicate technical findings clearly. You should be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different disciplines and take responsibility for validating your work before closure.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain production software using modern C++. Investigate reported defects, identify root causes, and implement maintainable fixes within a mature codebase. Deliver user-facing features with consideration for quality, performance, accessibility, and the overall user experience. Trace issues across UI state, local storage, service or network responses, content metadata, and platform-specific behavior. Validate changes through appropriate testing and debugging, communicate progress and risks to relevant partners, and follow work through to resolution. Contribute to collaborative problem-solving and share useful technical context with teammates.

Benefits

Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements and may include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; short- and long-term disability insurance; and five personal days accrued each calendar year. Paid sick and safe time will comply with applicable city and state laws. The benefits package also includes 10–15 days of paid vacation, six paid holidays, one floating holiday per calendar year, and access to Ascendion’s Learning Management System. Equal Opportunity Ascendion values inclusion, opportunity, and partnership, and welcomes candidates with varied experiences, education, perspectives, and ambitions. Jobrapido and Ascendion are committed to a professional and respectful hiring experience. Candidates are encouraged to bring their knowledge, creativity, and unique viewpoints to the process.
