Role Description The Data Analyst III reports to the Financial Data Team Manager within the Office of Finance. The position performs moderate complex functions involving analysis, quality, research, and reconciliation. Work entails:

• Querying and compiling data
• Developing technical solutions such as creating databases
• Developing software applications using computer languages
• Performing data quality metrics

The position prepares financial reports, identifies data trends, and establishes data quality metrics and measures to support organizational improvements. Full time remote worker.

Qualifications

• Experience writing scripts or code to extract, compile and present data or models using computer programming languages such as SQL is required.
• Experience in data analysis, research, and compilation is required.
• Knowledge of budget and general ledger financial reporting preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in data science, business, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is generally preferred.

Requirements

• Performs data integrity functions in CAPPS Fin, subsystems, and applications involving the maintenance of financial data fields within the chart of accounts.
• Serves as the security coordinator for the internal and external financial systems.
• Writes, extracts, queries, and compiles data for the completion of audit requests, open records requests, and ad hoc requests.
• Prepares data sets, financial and technical reports for major agency reports.
• Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
