We are currently looking for a HL7 Interoperability Architect for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OI&T), designing and implementing enterprise-level healthcare interoperability solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in HL7 v2, HL7 v3, CDA/C-CDA, and FHIR standards, along with experience integrating VistA systems, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, and modern electronic health record platforms. The position will collaborate with VA technical teams, clinical stakeholders, enterprise architects, and project leadership to ensure healthcare data exchange solutions align with VA enterprise architecture, the One-VA Technical Reference Model (TRM), and federal security and interoperability standards. The role operates within an Agile environment and requires strong architectural leadership, technical documentation, and cross-functional coordination. The candidate must reside within the continental US.
