WHAT YOU'LL DO Evaluate and decide Own the exception and high-value queue: review every case flagged by intake and work it to a decision Dig into injuries, liability, coverage, and red flags, and know quickly what to verify and what to ask Identify commercial vehicle involvement (tractor-trailers, delivery and fleet vehicles, rideshare, etc.), catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and other high-value indicators Assess likely damages, available insurance, statute of limitations, venue, and conflicts or prior-representation issues that affect whether we can and should take the case Make a clear sign / refer out / decline decision with documented reasoning, escalating to the managing attorney when a case falls outside your guidelines or the stakes call for it Contact and sign Reach out to prospective clients and families fast. Speed to contact on exceptions is a core measure of your role Talk with seriously injured clients and grieving families with empathy, and ask the right follow-up questions to get the full picture Close the loop: when we sign, get the client signed and the case handed off cleanly. When we refer out, make the re-referral quickly and professionally so the client is never left waiting Document and improve Document every evaluation, decision, and client contact in Filevine and our intake systems Hand signed cases to the right team with a complete, attorney-ready summary Track referral outcomes and decision trends, and share what you see with managing attorneys and Contact Strategy leadership to sharpen intake criteria and upstream qualification Partner with intake leadership to feed what you learn back to the front line, so fewer high-value cases land in the exception queue unclear QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of personal injury law firm experience in case evaluation, case management, or as a paralegal, with direct experience qualifying and screening cases (5+ years preferred) Demonstrated experience evaluating case value and viability: injury severity, liability, and insurance and coverage issues. You can explain why you'd sign or pass on a case Experience making or recommending sign / decline / referral decisions, and comfort being accountable for them Working knowledge of PI case fundamentals: liability theories, statutes of limitations, damages, and what makes a case worth the investment Exceptional written and verbal communication, with real comfort speaking with seriously injured clients and grieving families Strong judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail Proven ability to meet speed and turnaround standards in a fast-moving, metrics-driven environment Proficiency with case management and CRM systems (Filevine, Salesforce, or similar) NICE TO HAVE Catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or commercial vehicle (trucking) case experience Experience working directly with attorneys on case acceptance decisions Familiarity with referral and co-counsel arrangements and the ethical rules around them Experience in a high-volume intake or contact center environment Multi-state PI experience Bilingual in Spanish (not required) WHO THRIVES HERE (CORE VALUES) We don't hire on resumes alone. WHAT WE OFFER Base Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our job postings reflect the compensation range for the specific market and location of each role. Ranges vary by geography based on local market rates and cost of labor.
