Role Description The IOP/PHP Group Facilitator role is a part-time, remote position responsible for leading structured group therapy sessions for patients in intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs. The facilitator designs and implements group curricula that align with program goals, clinical best practices, and individualized treatment plans. Typical responsibilities include conducting psychoeducational and skills-based groups, documenting session notes and progress in a timely and accurate manner, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, and participating in case reviews and treatment planning meetings. The role also involves monitoring group dynamics, assessing risk and safety concerns, providing appropriate interventions, and supporting adherence to regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards. The facilitator is expected to maintain professional boundaries, engage in ongoing supervision or consultation, and contribute to continuous improvement of group programming.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated experience facilitating group therapy or structured behavioral health groups in IOP, PHP, inpatient, or similar settings. Knowledge of evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and psychoeducation for moderate to high-acuity populations. Strong clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and crisis intervention skills, with the ability to respond appropriately in remote care environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear documentation and collaborative communication with multidisciplinary teams. Comfort and proficiency with telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and basic digital tools required for remote clinical work. Demonstrated cultural humility and commitment to inclusive, person-centered, and non-discriminatory care. Strong organizational skills, reliability in maintaining schedules, and ability to manage multiple groups and caseload responsibilities part time. Willingness to participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical effectiveness and program outcomes.
