Key Responsibility Own the end-to-end architecture and development of the AWS database and data platform. Design and implement scalable, secure, highly available AWS-native database solutions. Lead database design, schema development, data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization. Design relational and analytical data structures based on application, reporting, and analytics requirements. Define database standards, naming conventions, data access patterns, archival strategies, and lifecycle management. Design and implement database backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies. Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, data integrity, and scalability issues. Provide hands-on technical leadership to developers and data engineers working on the database layer. Required Qualification: 10+ years of experience in Cloud, Data Engineering, Database Engineering, or Solution Architecture roles. Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions specifically on AWS. Deep experience with AWS database and data services, particularly RDS/Aurora, S3, Glue, and AWS DMS. Strong understanding of logical, physical, and dimensional data modeling. Hands-on experience building AWS Glue-based ETL/ELT pipelines. Experience with AWS DMS for database migration and replication. Experience with Apache Airflow / Amazon MWAA. Strong understanding of AWS IAM, networking, security, encryption, and Secrets Manager. Hands-on experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code. Experience implementing AWS monitoring and logging using CloudWatch and CloudTrail. Strong understanding of backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts. Ability to independently troubleshoot AWS infrastructure, database, pipeline, and performance issues. Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
