Legal Engineer

Remote · United Arab Emirates Full-time

An exciting opportunity for a former practising lawyer looking to combine their legal expertise with cutting-edge AI technology.

The Opportunity

Are you a former law firm attorney with a passion for technology and innovation?

Would you like to play a key role in changing how leading law firms operate, using AI to make legal work smarter, faster and more efficient?

This could be the opportunity for you.

We're looking for a commercially minded, technically curious Legal Engineer to join a leading global legal technology business at the forefront of AI innovation.

This is a senior, client-facing position where you'll work directly with some of the largest law firms, helping them rethink traditional ways of working and unlock the potential of AI-powered legal solutions.

You'll act as a trusted adviser to senior legal stakeholders, combining your understanding of legal practice with innovative technology to design, develop and implement tailored workflows that deliver real business value.

You'll also have the opportunity to influence future product development, ensuring client feedback and practical legal experience help shape the next generation of legal AI solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing smarter legal workflows: Lead the development, configuration and implementation of bespoke AI-powered workflows and vault templates for major law firm clients.

  • Working closely with clients: Partner with law firm stakeholders to understand their existing processes, identify challenges and develop practical, technology-driven solutions.

  • Driving adoption: Build relationships with partners, practice leaders, lawyers and knowledge management teams to encourage the successful implementation and ongoing use of new solutions.

  • Demonstrating the value of AI: Support product demonstrations, proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot programmes, showing firms how AI can transform their day-to-day operations.

  • Influencing product innovation: Act as the voice of the customer, sharing insights and feedback with product, engineering and UX teams to help shape future enhancements.

  • Supporting successful rollouts: Develop resources, guidance and best practices to help clients maximise the value of their AI investments.

What We're Looking For

This role would suit a qualified lawyer who has moved, or is looking to move, away from traditional legal practice and into a more innovative, technology-focused career.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) and at least 2 years of recent experience working in a law firm with more than 50 attorneys, ideally within Litigation or Corporate Law.

  • A strong understanding of how law firms operate, including legal workflows, service delivery and the everyday challenges faced by practising lawyers.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior lawyers and law firm leadership.

  • A genuine interest in AI, legal technology and the opportunities they create for improving legal service delivery.

  • The ability to translate complex legal and technical concepts into practical solutions and clear business benefits.

  • A proactive, consultative approach, with the commercial awareness and credibility to operate as a trusted adviser.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to use your legal background in a completely different way.

Rather than delivering legal advice, you'll be helping shape how legal services are delivered in the future.

You'll be joining a global business investing in AI and innovation, working with leading law firms and collaborating with talented professionals across legal, commercial, product and technology teams.

The business also recognises the importance of flexibility and work-life balance, offering flexible working arrangements, wellbeing initiatives and shared parental leave to support both your professional and personal goals.

Interested?

If you're a lawyer who enjoys technology, problem-solving and working with people, and you're curious about what a career outside traditional practice could look like, I'd love to hear from you.
