Job Summary As a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, you’ll help keep a medical office running smoothly while delivering attentive service to patients. You’ll welcome patients, coordinate appointments and records, and support clinicians with intake and routine clinical tasks. Your work may span outpatient care and, where relevant, settings such as urgent care, dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

Greet patients, manage scheduling and check-in, and provide clear, respectful patient service. Complete intake, record vital signs, update medical records, and support patient care within your training and authorized scope. Assist with phlebotomy, medication administration, and other medical assisting tasks when qualified and directed. Maintain accurate medical documentation, support electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR), and assist with coding and records workflows. Qualifications

Medical office experience and skills in medical administrative support, medical office management, or reception are helpful. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology supports safe, accurate work. Familiarity with EHR systems, EHR management, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding, and medical records is preferred. Basic life support certification and experience with phlebotomy, vital signs, or medication administration are preferred where applicable. Experience in hospital or inpatient settings—including Level I or II trauma centers, intensive care, pediatric intensive care (PICU), or operating rooms (OR)—is a plus, as is outpatient experience.
