Mid Level Azure Storage Migration Engineer 259310
Job Title: Azure Cloud Storage Migration Coordinator (Mid-Level) Job Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire Location: Remote Seniority Level: Mid-Level (3–7 years of relevant experience) $55-60/hr W2
About the Role
Are you a mid-level Cloud or Infrastructure Specialist who balances technical hands-on execution with sharp organizational and coordination skills? We are seeking an Azure Cloud Storage Migration Coordinator to lead a critical, full-time Cloud Security & Storage Modernization initiative. This role sits right at the intersection of Azure Systems/Cloud Engineering and IT Project Coordination . It is not a high-level Enterprise Architecture role, nor is it a pure, non-technical Project Management role. We need a mid-level execution specialist who can operate with technical autonomy: someone comfortable configuring Azure Private Endpoints and working with NetApp/file share storage, while spending significant time working directly with business unit heads, tracking 1,000+ share inventories, scheduling CAB maintenance windows, and driving migration cutovers. Who We Are Looking For (Mid-Level Profile) 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, enterprise storage, or migration initiatives. Balanced Skillset: ~30% Technical Execution (Azure VNets, Private Endpoints, Storage Accounts), ~40% Stakeholder & Project Coordination (tracking, scheduling, outreach), and ~30% Discovery & Governance (uncovering orphaned file shares and tracking ownership). Self-Driven Execution: Able to work independently to drive cutovers and change requests without needing deep architectural oversight, relying on senior architects only for complex edge-case escalations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Asset Management: Own and maintain a tracking inventory of 1,000+ storage file shares and endpoints targeted for public-to-private migration. Stakeholder Engagement & Discovery: Reach out to application owners and business unit heads to identify ownership, discover orphaned shares, and align migration schedules. Technical Migration Execution: Coordinate and execute transitioning Azure storage access off public endpoints and onto Azure Private Endpoints (updating network connectivity, IP assignments, DNS, and file paths). Change Management: Lead maintenance window planning, schedule Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews, and manage risk/dependency tracking. Validation & Cleanup: Work directly with application teams post-migration to validate connectivity and retire unowned or obsolete storage endpoints safely. Required Qualifications 3–7 years of experience supporting cloud, enterprise storage, or infrastructure migration projects. Intermediate Azure Knowledge: Solid understanding of Azure Storage Accounts, Azure VNets, Private Endpoints, DNS considerations, and IP address management. Storage Experience: Hands-on experience working with enterprise storage environments, file shares (NFS, SMB/CIFS), and changing file paths. NetApp Experience: Direct experience with NetApp storage environments or NetApp-to-Azure integrations. Strong Coordination Abilities: Proven capability to organize large tracking repositories (Excel, ServiceNow, Jira), lead stakeholder meetings, and keep teams accountable to schedules. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical change impacts to non-technical business leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on implementation experience with Azure Private Link / Private Endpoints. Prior experience in healthcare, financial services, or highly regulated enterprise environments . Working knowledge of ITIL-based change management frameworks.
