Datgroup is a small federal IT contractor, and we're hiring a full-time Power Platform Automation Engineer for a Department of Homeland Security (USCIS) program. You'll join a team that runs an enterprise API platform. Your job is to automate the manual work around it and help keep it running. Plan on spending about half your time building and half on operations and support. You'll build Power Automate flows and Power Apps that track intake, approvals, and status. You'll also troubleshoot API and integration issues for the developers who use the platform. If you enjoy finding a broken process, automating it, and proving the time it saves, this role is for you. What you'll do Build and maintain Power Automate flows for request intake, assignment, approvals, reminders, escalations, and status tracking Automate shared-mailbox operations: logging, routing, response tracking, and follow-ups Build Power Apps on SharePoint lists so the team can track requests and records Call REST APIs from flows and troubleshoot integration failures, such as auth errors, rate limits, and bad payloads Monitor automations in production, with error handling, alerts, and recovery steps Build Power BI or Excel reporting on volume, turnaround time, and aging Write process maps, runbooks, and support guides Coordinate deployments, connections, and permissions with platform admins Must have U.S. citizenship (required to obtain a DHS Public Trust) 4+ years of hands-on Power Automate and Power Apps experience Experience calling REST APIs from Power Automate (HTTP actions or custom connectors), including authentication and error handling Working knowledge of HTTP status codes, JSON, and OAuth Experience with SharePoint lists, Outlook, Teams, and Excel as part of business processes Experience with Power Platform solutions, environments, and moving work from dev to production A bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or equivalent experience Nice to have Apigee or another API gateway (Azure API Management counts) PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript scripting UiPath or Power Automate Desktop AWS, Linux, or CI/CD exposure Prior federal work or an active Public Trust Microsoft Power Platform certification (PL-400, PL-200, or PL-500) Compensation and benefits W-2, full-time, 100% remote $550/month toward health coverage, plus more for dependents 401(k) with a safe harbor match of up to 4% Paid time off and paid federal holidays $2,500/year for professional development and certifications How to apply With your application, write 3 to 5 sentences about one Power Automate flow you built that called a REST API.
