About the Role

Build and support Python applications and backend services that enable core insurance business processes. This full-time, remote FormativGroup role will support a client engagement in the insurance industry. You will develop and maintain Python applications, REST APIs, and data-processing solutions; integrate internal and external systems; and collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver reliable solutions. The role also supports cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes, along with unit testing, debugging, production support, performance optimization, and secure development practices. What You'll Work On As a Python Developer, you will:

• Develop and maintain Python applications supporting insurance business processes, including Policy, Claims, Underwriting, and Billing systems.
• Build REST APIs and backend services, and integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs and web services.
• Develop data-processing and automation solutions using Python and SQL, work with relational databases, and optimize SQL queries.
• Develop and maintain applications using Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions in an Agile/Scrum environment.

What You'll Bring You will likely be successful in this role if you have:

• Strong hands-on Python backend development experience, including building REST APIs and backend services.
• Experience developing applications using Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, data processing, and query optimization.
• Experience integrating applications through APIs and web services and supporting cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, production support, performance optimization, and secure coding and development best practices.
