Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Randstad Digital Americas is recruiting for a Data Scientist supporting an R&D Molecular Typing team. The role streamlines sequencing analysis and report-generation workflows, manages laboratory and genomic datasets, and collaborates with research and cross-functional teams to improve computational processes for molecular diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize existing analysis workflow pipelines
• Collect, clean, aggregate, and manage datasets from various laboratory and genomic sources
• Collaborate with internal bioinformatics and data science teams to identify computational bottlenecks in existing workflows and assist in process efficiency where needed
• Perform light scripting and programming work to support pipeline integration and data processing

Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field
• 2+ years of meaningful work experience in data science, bioinformatics, or genomic data analysis
• Proficiency in programming and scripting with Python, R, C/C++, SQL, Shell/Bash, or other languages
• Hands-on experience working in a Linux environment building, running, and maintaining Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) bioinformatics analysis pipelines
• Knowledge of common bioinformatics tools, sequence alignment algorithms, and public genomic databases
• Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization of large, complex biological datasets
• Understanding of basic biological concepts and molecular biology fundamentals
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact regularly with organizational system hardware, software, infrastructure, and IT personnel
