Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GAC Solutions is seeking an Industrial Software Engineer for an unnamed major U.S. defense contractor. The role develops manufacturing applications and integrates industrial data with enterprise systems, while collaborating with plant teams to translate manufacturing needs into digital solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, responsive industrial applications using Ignition Perspective and modern web technologies
• Integrate industrial equipment and data systems using OPC, Kepware, tags, historians, SQL, and REST APIs
• Build integrations with enterprise systems such as SAP, SharePoint, and Active Directory
• Design maintainable application architectures, data models, and efficient SQL queries
• Collaborate directly with operators, maintenance teams, engineers, and management to translate manufacturing needs into digital solutions
• Ensure application performance, security, reliability, diagnostics, and technical documentation

Skills

• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, SQL, and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI systems and live industrial data
• Experience with OPC connectivity, industrial tags, and historian data collection
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and operational workflows
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills
• Experience with Ignition Perspective, Kepware, and Canary Historian
• Knowledge of discrete manufacturing environments, SAP integrations, and cloud/hybrid architectures such as AWS Industrial Solutions Framework
