- Own Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting: Oversee the monthly close, general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Research and resolve complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, transaction classification, and other applicable GAAP requirements
- Lead Audit Readiness & Execution: Prepare the organization for its first comprehensive Big 4 financial statement audit, including evaluating historical accounting practices, addressing GAAP compliance gaps, developing supporting documentation, and serving as the primary contact with external auditors
- Lead an ERP Transformation: Evaluate, select, and implement a modern ERP platform, transitioning away from existing accounting systems while improving data integrity, reporting capabilities, and financial controls
- Manage Complex Accounting Structures: Oversee accounting across multiple legal entities, including consolidation assessments, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and specialized reporting requirements. Evaluate the appropriate accounting treatment of complex entity structures and transactions
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls within a highly regulated environment, ensuring alignment with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Modernize & Automate: Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability without compromising financial integrity or oversight
- Own Operational Accounting: Remain actively involved in day-to-day accounting, technical accounting decisions, and financial reporting while developing the infrastructure and team to support future growth
- Partner with Leadership: Work closely with finance and executive leadership on business initiatives, expansion plans, and strategic decision-making, translating complex accounting matters into meaningful business insights
