Position: Junior Accountant / Accounting Coordinator Location: 100% Remote Pay Rate: $20–$21/hr on W-2 Employment Type: Contract No C2C or Third-Party Candidates Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant / Accounting Coordinator to support payroll accounting, financial reconciliations, and tax compliance for a large enterprise organization. This position involves applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), reconciling payroll transactions, maintaining accurate General Ledger records, and supporting U.S. and international payroll tax operations. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, advanced Excel skills, and experience working with payroll or financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

Reconcile weekly and biweekly payroll transactions using Oracle systems and ADP Celergo. Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate General Ledger postings. Prepare monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts and accrued payroll accounts. Research discrepancies and prepare necessary journal entries. Support employee tax setup, withholding updates, and payroll tax compliance. Reconcile payroll invoices against daily funding and coordinate with ADP to resolve variances. Assist with payroll tax inquiries involving U.S. and international jurisdictions, including Canada, Brazil, Spain, and Portugal. Complete quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting and reconciliation activities. Collaborate with Payroll, IT, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and internal controls teams. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audits. Required Qualifications 2+ years of accounting or finance experience in a corporate or similar environment. Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills , including data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and General Ledger activities. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Experience with Oracle Cloud Payroll, ADP Celergo, or JD Edwards General Ledger . Payroll accounting or payroll tax reconciliation experience. Familiarity with U.S. federal and state payroll tax requirements. Exposure to international payroll tax compliance. Experience working with cross-functional finance and payroll teams.
