The Software Engineering Manager will lead and grow a software engineering team, own its delivery roadmap, guide technical strategy, and foster engineering quality, predictable delivery, and employee development.

Responsibilities

• Own the team’s delivery roadmap, aligning priorities with product and business goals
• Partner with engineering peers, product managers, UX, and program management to define and execute a clear long-term strategy
• Mentor and support engineers at varying stages of their careers, from new hires to senior contributors
• Create conditions that enable the team to self-organize, maintain predictable delivery, and sustain healthy velocity
• Raise the technical bar by setting clear expectations around quality, processes, and engineering best practices
• Support technical problem-solving by encouraging pragmatic decisions and thoughtful trade-off discussions

Skills

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience; or a PhD with a minimum of 3 years experience
• Proven experience delivering large-scale initiatives that span multiple teams while establishing effective engineering practices and processes
• Experience with modern software development technologies and architectures (e.g., service-oriented systems, APIs, web or backend frameworks)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with data-intensive systems or applied machine learning
