Medical Coder for Ophthalmology – UB Associates, Inc. Full-Time | Remote Company: UB Associates, Inc. Pay Range: $24.00–$27.00 per hour Work Location: Remote Position Summary UB Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote Medical Coder for Ophthalmology to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate coding of diagnostic, procedural, and surgical information that supports proper reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. The Coding Specialist plays a key role in revenue cycle success by evaluating provider documentation, resolving coding denials, supporting education initiatives, and ensuring compliance with coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coding & Charge Accuracy Accurately code charges from provider encounter forms and operative reports using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes Enter charges from all sites in the CGM billing system and verify EMR data Evaluate provider documentation to ensure correct diagnoses, procedures, and E/M levels are assigned Denials & Appeals Support Review coding denials and submit appeals as needed Assist with resolving reimbursement issues related to coding accuracy Provider Collaboration & Education Provide feedback to physicians and support coding education for staff and residents Answer patient and insurance inquiries as needed Participate in meetings, committees, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications
