The role emphasizes SOX compliance, documentation, troubleshooting, controlled changes, and practical automation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Okta users, groups, application assignments, policies, and access changes across business-critical systems
  • Support access provisioning, deprovisioning, and role changes for employees, contractors, service accounts, and privileged users
  • Assist with Okta application integrations, including SAML, OIDC, SCIM, app assignments, group mapping, and downstream provisioning behavior
  • Partner with IAM analysts, Financial Systems engineers, Security, IT, and application owners on SSO, SCIM, lifecycle, and provisioning improvements
  • Help test, validate, and document Okta integrations, provisioning updates, automations, and access workflows before production rollout
  • Execute approved Okta configuration updates according to change control, approval, and documentation standards

  • Triage and resolve Okta-related access issues, including app tile access, MFA, group assignment, provisioning failures, and downstream application access
  • Identify repetitive manual work that could be improved through workflow, automation, IaC, better request intake, or clearer ownership
  • Coordinate with helpdesk and application support teams to ensure access requests are handled consistently and with appropriate approvals
  • Document common Okta tasks, access request patterns, troubleshooting steps, integration notes, and recurring administrative processes
  • Provide occasional weekend support for escalated Okta or access-related tickets that IT support teams are unable to resolve, particularly when access issues affect business-critical systems or time-sensitive operations

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Okta users, groups, app assignments, MFA, SSO concepts, and access lifecycle processes
  • Exposure to SAML, OIDC, SCIM, APIs, workflow automation, or Infra as Code (IaC) - managed configuration
  • Ability to follow change control and approval procedures while still spotting opportunities to improve the process
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and comfort working across technical and nontechnical teams
  • Ability to partner with IAM specialists, engineers, analysts, application owners, auditors, and business stakeholders
  • At least 2+ years of Okta, IAM, IT systems administration, SaaS administration, helpdesk escalation, or access management experience
  • Experience supporting access requests, onboarding/offboarding, permissions cleanup, user access reviews, or audit evidence
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
