Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Talent is recruiting for an established organization undergoing an enterprise data infrastructure transformation. The Senior Data Engineer will lead data modernization, including an Azure Synapse-to-Microsoft Fabric migration, and shape scalable data architecture, governance, and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead key components of the organization's Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric migration, owning architecture, design, and implementation decisions
• Design, develop, and manage Microsoft Fabric environments, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Notebooks, and Data Pipelines
• Establish data governance, cataloging, and architecture standards to improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility
• Develop and optimize scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Azure data technologies
• Support integrations across enterprise platforms, including ERP, HRIS, financial, and asset management systems
• Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and data architecture best practices
• Troubleshoot existing data pipelines and identify opportunities to improve performance and scalability
• Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance on Microsoft Fabric and data migration methodologies

Skills

• 5–8 years of experience in data engineering, ideally with experience owning complex data platform initiatives
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including workspace architecture, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Pipelines
• Demonstrated experience migrating workloads from Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory to Microsoft Fabric
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience designing and implementing data governance, cataloging, and data architecture frameworks
• Proven ability to lead data platform migrations from initial planning through implementation
• An applicable Microsoft Certified: Associate certification is required
