Genesis10 is a staffing and recruiting company seeking a Senior Data Engineer/Architect for a remote contract-to-hire position supporting a major healthcare company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role focuses on designing and implementing scalable cloud-based data solutions using Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Medallion Architecture, and modern data modeling practices, while supporting healthcare data analytics, governance, and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Snowflake
• Implement and support Medallion Architecture frameworks (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers) to enable trusted, high-quality analytics
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support reporting, analytics, and operational data needs
• Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, analysts, and application teams to understand data requirements
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are met
• Support enterprise data warehouse modernization and cloud migration initiatives
• Analyze complex healthcare datasets and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Snowflake
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• SQL
• ETL/ELT development
• Data Modeling (dimensional and relational)
• Experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture or similar modern data lakehouse frameworks
• Proven ability to build and optimize large-scale cloud-based data solutions
• Strong understanding of data governance and data quality best practices
• Experience within the healthcare or health insurance industry
• Knowledge of healthcare data domains such as:
• Claims
• Member/Subscriber Data
• Provider Data
• Enrollment
• Clinical or Population Health Data
• Experience with Azure cloud services and modern data platform architectures
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and data privacy requirements (HIPAA)
