Open role
Remote | Senior Mobile Developer — \$50–\$100/hour
About the position 24-MAG LLC is offering a fully remote freelance/contract consulting opportunity for experienced mobile developers to contribute to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives. The role focuses on creating realistic, technically challenging mobile engineering tasks that evaluate how AI models diagnose bugs, implement features, refactor code, and improve application performance. AI training experience is not required. The work may focus on iOS development with Swift and SwiftUI or UIKit; Android development with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose or the Android View system; or cross-platform development with React Native and TypeScript or JavaScript, or Flutter and Dart. Assignments cover mobile architecture, application state and lifecycle behaviour, asynchronous operations, debugging, feature development, refactoring, and performance optimisation. Developers create reproducible development environments, clear task specifications and acceptance criteria, deterministic automated verifiers, and complete reference implementations. They validate that tasks and tests are reliable across repeated runs and assess task difficulty, technical relevance, and suitability for advanced AI evaluation. Deliverables include task specifications, reproducible code environments, automated verifiers, and validated reference solutions. This is an output-based engagement, with payment for each completed task that meets project specifications. The expected commitment is approximately 15 hours per week, with minimum task submission requirements communicated during onboarding. Candidates should be prepared to start promptly after selection and onboarding; first assignments are generally expected within 24–48 hours. Task completion time may vary with complexity and individual workflow. The advertised rate is \$50–\$100 per hour, and the posting lists 100 available openings.
Responsibilities
- Design realistic, technically challenging mobile engineering tasks using suitable application repositories.
- Create coding challenges involving bug fixes, feature development, code refactoring, and performance improvements.
- Develop tasks that exercise mobile architecture, complex application state, asynchronous operations, and lifecycle behaviour.
- Create platform-specific challenges for iOS, Android, or cross-platform mobile applications using the relevant technologies.
- Design scenarios that require investigating subtle bugs, state management, asynchronous execution, lifecycle issues, and performance problems.
- Assess the correctness and maintainability of code changes and refactoring approaches.
- Build reproducible development environments for each challenge and define clear problem statements, expected behaviour, and technical acceptance criteria.
- Develop deterministic verifiers that accept different valid implementations and reject incomplete, incorrect, or hard-coded solutions.
- Validate task reliability and consistency across repeated evaluation runs.
- Produce complete reference implementations and verify that they meet technical requirements and pass automated checks.
- Evaluate task difficulty, technical relevance, and suitability for advanced AI model assessment.
- Document implementation requirements, verification procedures, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain engineering quality, reproducibility, and evaluation reliability across deliverables.
