Open role
[Remote] Senior QA Engineer, Creative Automation
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Elios AI is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to test an automated pipeline that turns structured creative requests into finished display ads. The role covers end-to-end workflow validation, failure and edge-case testing, creative output review, and clear defect reporting.
Responsibilities
- Trace jobs across the full chain, from intake records in Airtable through AWS orchestration, Photoshop API rendering, and review in Frame.io
- Validate asynchronous, event-driven behavior, including status transitions, webhooks, retries, and what happens when the same approval fires twice
- Break things on purpose: expired tokens, oversized or corrupt source files, missing manifest keys, API rate limits, and dropped connections
- Confirm the circuit breaker trips, pauses, and recovers the way it's designed to
- Design repeatable tests that show whether cache invalidation is working or whether stale files are slipping through
- Check file and folder sync edge cases like encoded filenames, duplicate folder names, and version stack collisions
- Review output renditions with a designer's eye for typography, safe zones, CTA placement, disclaimers, and AI crop or expansion quality across aspect ratios
- Write Jira defects that another engineer can reproduce without asking you a single follow-up question
Skills
- Mid to senior experience as a QA Engineer or SDET
- Real experience testing decoupled, multi-stage pipelines, with a working grasp of idempotency, de-duplication, race conditions, and queue throttling
- Comfortable reading AWS logs and execution history (SQS, Step Functions, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3) to tell an intake error from a timeout from a tripped breaker
- Strong in Jira: epics, stories, acceptance criteria, and clean bug reports
- Hands-on with Airtable field types, formulas, and automations
- Practical Frame.io experience as a review and approval layer, including version stacks, status hooks, share links, and API auth quirks
- Solid understanding of Photoshop structure (artboards, smart objects, layers, masks, text layers) and output formats like PSD, PSB, JPG, PNG, and GIF
- Ideally on media workflows, ad tech production, creative automation, or cloud integration projects
- Some familiarity with the Photoshop API and Firefly generative tools, and enough judgment to spot when Gen Expand was used where a native crop would have done
- Premiere Pro, After Effects and MoGRTs, and Media Encoder presets
- Working knowledge of video codecs, resolutions, and delivery specs
