CVS Health is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and automation solutions. The role contributes to backend services, frontend applications, REST API integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure while helping modernize development processes and deliver secure, reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Software Development Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and automation solutions
• This role will contribute to Java and Spring Boot services, modern frontend applications, REST API integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
• The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize development processes, improve application delivery, create technical documentation, and implement secure, reliable solutions using modern software engineering and DevOps practices

Skills

• Professional experience developing software using Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, or comparable programming languages
• Experience developing backend services or REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular
• Working knowledge of Git, source-control practices, and software development lifecycles
• Experience building, maintaining, or supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and produce clear technical and operational documentation
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams, business partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders
• Understanding of application testing practices, including unit, integration, test-driven development, or behavior-driven development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, formal technical training, and relevant professional experience
• Experience with GitHub Actions and the modernization or migration of Jenkins-based pipelines
• Experience developing automation using Python and GitHub APIs
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience using Terraform or Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud resources
• Experience with event-driven technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
• Experience developing microfrontends or reusable application-scaffolding frameworks
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, audit logging, identity and approval workflows, or enterprise security and compliance requirements
• Experience supporting large-scale repository, cloud, or development-platform migrations
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning and capacity forecasting
• Formal software engineering training in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, REST APIs, relational databases, or related technologies is preferred
