New Relic is a global observability company that builds an intelligent platform to help companies gain insight into complex systems and optimize digital applications. The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional engineering programs, particularly involving financial systems, SaaS software, and software development lifecycles. The role will drive technical projects, establish performance metrics, manage risks, and coordinate communication across teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical projects from ideation to delivery, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks, and keeping processes running smoothly
• Identify and operationalize the metrics and key performance indicators necessary to track progress, and drive issue resolution & mitigation at a granular level across the organization
• Create and operationalize processes to transform the effectiveness of the organization with respect to meeting business goals
• Drive effective communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
• Work with teams to identify and handle our top risks and drive decisions to align leadership on the right level of risk for each project. Facilitate productive meetings from small (3-5 people) to large (100 people or more)

Skills

• The ideal candidate is a strong Program Manager with a senior-level understanding of Financial Systems Engineering, Finance and Accounting Fundamentals,, SaaS software, and systems development lifecycles
• 8+ years of professional experience leading and delivering complex, ground-breaking initiatives in the product organization in cross-functional work environments
• 8+ years delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
• Proven experience working in a hands-on role leading large-scale software development projects (preferably in a SaaS environment)
• Experience with agile teams and practitioners, with ability to adapt process and style as needed to meet the current needs of the program
• Proficient in program management fundamentals— team building, role/responsibility definition, DACI & RACI frameworks, risk management, work breakdown structures, project tracking, resource management, etc
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to select and use data to educate, initiate action, and drive accountability from local and remote teams
• Solid understanding of the complete software development life cycle with an appreciation for maintaining a high quality bar with low operational overhead
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with Financial & CRM Systems, Saas based applications, and Jira
• Prior experience with high growth companies and cross functional projects
