Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VSolvit LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineer to modernize and maintain scalable web applications and microservices supporting U.S. Navy mission applications. The role spans frontend and backend development, database migration, API architecture, software quality, and collaboration with engineering teams and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: Design, build, and maintain responsive web applications using modern Angular on the frontend and Java / Spring Boot microservices on the backend
• Database & Data Migration: Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers. Assist in database optimization and legacy data migration efforts (converting Oracle PL/SQL data models to PostgreSQL)
• API & System Architecture: Develop robust RESTful APIs, integrate backend services, and support microservices running in containerized environments
• Software Lifecycle & Quality: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, perform peer code reviews, document technical workflows, and write unit/integration test suites (JUnit)
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional engineering teams and government stakeholders to gather requirements and troubleshoot production issues

Skills

• U.S. Citizenship is strictly required
• Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret level or higher) or the ability to immediately obtain/reactivate one
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
• 3+ years of professional full-stack software development experience
• Hands-on experience developing microservices and REST APIs with Java and Spring Boot
• Professional experience building single-page applications using Angular (TypeScript)
• Strong relational database experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and/or Oracle (PL/SQL)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CompTIA Security+ certification (or DoD 8570 compliance equivalent)
• Direct experience converting or migrating legacy Oracle (19c+) database logic to PostgreSQL
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Prior experience supporting U.S. Navy or broader DoD / Defense contractor software engineering projects
• Exposure to CMMI Level 3 standards or Agile development methodologies
