Akamai Technologies is hiring a Software Engineer to develop and maintain high-reliability, high-throughput systems that manage customer security certificates and configurations. The role focuses on building scalable systems and supporting secure delivery across Akamai teams.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations
• Developing software to make efficient use of Relational Database Management Systems and NoSQL databases
• Creating new features from scratch, enhancing existing features and optimizing existing functionality
• Following good development methodology, including collaboration with testing and SQA departments to successfully deploy new system components

Skills

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Possess academic or project-based training in Java and familiarity with Python, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments
• Have hands-on project experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks for building scalable backend applications
• Have hands-on project experience with UI technologies through academic or practical project experience using Angular for front-end development solutions
• Demonstrate foundational understanding or project coursework in Terraform
• Demonstrate understanding of SQL, relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres), and NoSQL databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, Cassandra) through projects
