As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers to build and scale services for CSC Generation's Retail Service Cloud, driving architectural decisions and ensuring high engineering quality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner for your domain or service within our Retail Service Cloud
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of the technical roadmap — from building new features to scaling the platform
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability
• Architect and implement frameworks that power upcoming projects
• Modernize and optimize our technology stack by replacing legacy code and services
• Build and mentor a team of developers, driving productivity, growth, and engineering excellence
• Act as the primary technical point of contact, clearly communicating decisions and pushing back on requests when necessary to maintain quality and focus
• Plan and manage sprints, triage tickets, and contribute to product roadmap discussions

Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or engineering management role with direct reports
• Proficiency in modern frameworks and languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, or Django
• Demonstrated ability to be at least 50% hands-on — writing, reviewing, and debugging production code — while also managing a team and driving technical strategy
• Experience owning a domain or service end-to-end: architecture decisions, roadmap planning, and delivery
• Strong track record of mentoring engineers and improving team productivity and code quality
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and decisions must be made with incomplete information
• Experience building platforms or shared services in a multi-brand or multi-tenant retail or e-commerce environment
• Familiarity with AI/ML tooling, prompt engineering, or integrating LLM-based features into production systems
• Prior experience working in or alongside a platform team supporting multiple internal engineering customers
• Background in modernizing legacy systems or leading platform migration projects at scale
