Synectics for Management Decisions, Inc. is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to support a government agency’s effort to modernize mission-critical data stores into authoritative sources of truth. The role focuses on building secure cloud data pipelines, implementing enterprise data fabric architecture, and migrating legacy systems to cloud-native lakehouse repositories.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize secure ETL/ELT pipelines streaming complex maritime operational data into AWS GovCloud/Azure Government spaces
• Implement enterprise data fabric architectures enabling unified discovery across 11 distinct operational networks
• Transition brittle legacy systems into modern cloud-native lakehouse repositories optimized for downstream AI ingestion

Skills

• 7+ years of dedicated data engineering experience utilizing Apache Spark, Kafka, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory
• Strong command of cloud-native infrastructure automation within federal government environments
• Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
• Active IAM Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP) highly preferred
