Robotics Engineer
Robotics Engineer (Remote, US) Rex.zone is hiring a Remote Robotics Engineer aligned with the San José robotics market. You will support end-to-end robotics engineering across perception, planning, and control with a strong focus on simulation testing, QA evaluation, log analysis, and safety validation to improve real-world system reliability.
What You Will Do
Build and maintain robotics software components in C++ and Python Integrate sensors (camera, IMU, LiDAR) and perform sensor fusion Develop and tune motion planning, control loops, and autonomy behaviors Run simulation experiments and hardware-in-the-loop style tests where applicable Define acceptance criteria, create repeatable test harnesses, and track metrics Analyze logs, trajectories, and edge cases to reduce failure rates and improve coverage Contribute to dataset review and training-data quality for learning-based components Write documentation, test plans, and runbooks for production-grade deployment
Required Qualifications
Mid-senior experience delivering robotics systems Strong C++ and Python skills Experience with ROS2 (nodes, topics, transforms, lifecycle) or equivalent middleware Knowledge of kinematics/dynamics, control systems, motion planning, and SLAM/localization concepts Ability to design tests, debug from logs, and communicate engineering tradeoffs Preferred Computer vision for robotics (calibration, tracking, detection) Simulation tooling, CI for robotics builds, telemetry/profiling Safety validation, fault injection, reliability engineering Evaluation protocols and labeling/guidelines compliance for data workflows
Compensation
Hourly pay range: $30–$50/hr (USD), based on scope, impact, and alignment to role requirements. How To Apply Apply via Rex.zone and include a resume plus a concise summary of robotics projects (navigation, manipulation, perception, controls). Share links to code or technical write-ups if available.
