You will oversee general ledger operations, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and month-end and year-end closing processes. Working directly with U.S. clients, you will help address financial inquiries, support compliance requirements, and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality. The position also encourages the use of AI tools and modern accounting technologies to improve efficiency and streamline workflows. Your main responsibilities will include: Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain the general ledger, and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and consistently. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items. Execute month-end and year-end closing processes while meeting established deadlines and accounting standards. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and trial balances. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial records and reporting documentation. Identify accounting discrepancies and provide clear explanations or recommendations to support financial decision-making. Compliance and Client Support: Support sales tax filings, regulatory compliance, and other accounting obligations across multiple entities. Communicate directly with U.S.-based clients to address accounting questions, clarify financial information, and provide professional support. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment when handling sensitive financial data. Technology and Process Improvement: Use accounting software, financial reporting tools, and AI-powered solutions to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen the reliability of financial operations. Follow established procedures and maintain high standards of quality, accountability, and timely delivery. Requirements: The ideal candidate brings extensive accounting experience, practical knowledge of U.S. accounting standards, and the confidence to manage responsibilities independently while communicating directly with clients. Strong technical skills, professional integrity, and consistent execution are essential. The requirements include: At least 7 years of professional accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 recent years working within a U.S. accounting firm or CPA practice. Strong, hands-on knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated experience applying its principles in professional accounting environments. Candidates with IFRS-only experience will not be considered. A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, SAICA, or an equivalent designation is strongly preferred. Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Practical experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and trial balances. Familiarity with sales tax filings, regulatory compliance, and accounting requirements across multiple entities. Advanced proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools. Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with U.S.-based clients. High standards of professional judgment, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. A stable employment history, with at least two years of tenure in each previous role. Advanced, hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to improve productivity and work quality. Reliable high-speed internet, professional equipment, and a quiet, dedicated home office. Consistent availability during U.S. business hours. Benefits: Compensation of $15 per hour. Fully remote work arrangement. Full-time or part-time engagement options. Direct collaboration with U.S.-based accounting professionals and CPA firms.
