Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist – Customer Segmentation & Classification (RTM) you will be the architect of the Route‑to‑Market (RTM) optimization framework. Your day‑to‑day will involve:

  • Mathematically formalizing the trade‑off between service time / RTM cost and revenue per point of sale, converting existing heuristics into a robust optimization function.
  • Modeling cost and profitability layers—including visit drivers, RTM size thresholds, and minimum margin requirements—that feed into customer segmentation and service‑model assignment.
  • Designing, building, and solving large‑scale linear/integer programming and constrained‑optimization models to determine the optimal service model for each customer across multiple countries.
  • Developing the “Characterization Pillars” (Channel, Size, Potential, Territorial Profile, Digital Autonomy) and scaling them for multi‑country deployment.
  • Translating end‑to‑end P&L statements into decision variables, cost structures, and objective functions that drive the optimization engine.
  • Documenting model assumptions, validation procedures, and results; presenting findings to business leaders, finance partners, and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers to create feature pipelines, data transformations, and reproducible notebooks on the brighthush platform.
  • Championing best practices in model governance, reproducibility, version control, and documentation across the data science team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Operations Research / Optimization Expertise – Proven experience with linear programming, integer programming, and constrained optimization techniques.
  • Financial Acumen – Ability to read, interpret, and translate P&L statements into quantitative model components.
  • Advanced Python Skills – Proficiency with optimization libraries such as PuLP, Pyomo, OR‑Tools or equivalents.
  • Statistical Foundations – Strong grasp of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Hands‑On Experience with brighthush – Practical knowledge of building and deploying models on the brighthush analytics platform.
  • Communication Excellence – Ability to convey complex analytical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences with clarity and confidence.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have) Qualifications

  • Experience with survival analysis, Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) modeling, or econometric techniques.
  • Background in retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries.
  • Familiarity with agentic infrastructure frameworks (e.g., Mosaic AI Agent Framework) and orchestration of autonomous analytical agents.
  • Previous work on multi‑country rollout of data products, especially in emerging markets.

Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Rigor – Meticulous attention to detail, strong problem‑solving instincts, and a data‑first mindset.
  • Strategic Thinking – Ability to see the big picture, align technical solutions with business objectives, and anticipate downstream impacts.
  • Collaboration – Comfortable working in cross‑functional squads, sharing knowledge, and integrating feedback from finance, operations, and product teams.
  • Ownership & Initiative – Self‑starter who can drive projects from concept through production without micromanagement.
  • Adaptability – Thrive in a fast‑moving startup environment where priorities evolve rapidly.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, your professional development is a top priority. As a senior data scientist you will:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of high‑impact optimization projects, positioning yourself as a subject‑matter expert in RTM strategy.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, shaping the next generation of analytical talent.
  • Gain exposure to C‑level stakeholders, sharpening your executive communication and influencing skills.
  • Access a generous education budget for certifications, conferences, and advanced coursework—including full coverage of brighthush, brighthush, brighthush, and brighthush certifications.
  • Participate in internal hackathons, research collaborations, and publication opportunities that showcase your work to the broader data community.
