Job Title: Senior Mainframe Application Developer Location(s): New York City, NY (Remote) Job Summary - We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Mainframe Application Developer to join our team. - In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing critical mainframe applications. - We are looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running, work independently, and drive results without constant supervision. - This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while collaborating with major technology partners. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL and Core Mainframe technologies. - Manage and optimize DB2 databases and perform SAM (Systems Asset Management/Storage Access Method) related tasks. - Integrate mainframe systems with modern applications using Java. - Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide senior-level support for production environments. - Proactively identify areas for system improvement and optimization. Required Skills & Qualifications - Experience: Senior-level experience, typically 7+ years, in Mainframe Application Development. - Technical Stack: - Core Mainframe: JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF - Languages: COBOL (Expert level) - Database: DB2 (Strong proficiency) - Other: SAM, Java, and other relevant mainframe tools - Soft Skills: - Self-Driven: Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote setting - Proactive: Must anticipate issues and suggest solutions rather than just reacting to tickets - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments - Prior experience collaborating with or working alongside IBM resources Company Overview Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
