Senior Project Manager, API Small Molecule CDMO (Remote, US) About the role A growing small molecule API CDMO is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead client programs from tech transfer through to commercial manufacturing. You’ll be the main point of contact for sponsors, owning the relationship, the timeline and the financials, and coordinating a cross-functional team of Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Analytical and Supply Chain. This is a remote position, with occasional travel to the manufacturing site and client meetings. Key responsibilities Lead a portfolio of API programs across development, clinical supply and commercial phases Own the client relationship day to day, running regular governance calls, steering committees and joint project team meetings Build and maintain integrated project plans, and drive delivery against agreed timelines, scope and budget Manage the commercial side of each project, including forecasting, change orders, milestone invoicing and revenue recognition inputs Lead technology transfer into the site, working with MSAT, PD and Manufacturing to deliver scale-up, engineering and validation batches Identify and escalate risks early, and run mitigation plans and CAPA follow-through where needed Work with Business Development on scoping new work, proposals and quotes Support client audits, regulatory inspections and quality reviews Contribute to continuous improvement of PM processes and reporting What we’re looking for Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related life sciences field (advanced degree a plus) Extensive experience in project management on the CDMO/CMO side, not sponsor-side, within small molecule API Proven track record of running client-facing governance and owning the sponsor relationship Hands-on experience with financial project management (budgets, change orders, forecasting) Solid understanding of cGMP, API synthesis, scale-up and tech transfer Experience across the lifecycle, from early phase through to commercial supply Strong communicator, comfortable influencing without direct authority PMP or equivalent certification preferred Experience with HPAPI, peptides or complex chemistry is a plus
