As part of this global team, you will contribute to developing products that enable on-route charging, at-home charging, and reimbursement solutions for EV users in the US and EU, while also enhancing systems that manage credit issuance and spend controls for fleet managers. Your expertise in Java and backend systems, along with your ability to collaborate across geographically distributed teams, will help drive the success and evolution of WEX Mobility products, ensuring they remain leaders in enabling sustainable and efficient fleet operations globally. How you’ll make an impact Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer challenges and design scalable backend solutions. Implement, and maintain robust REST APIs using Java and related frameworks. Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and scalability. Develop CI/CD pipelines and contribute to deployment automation. Adapt to new technologies and frameworks while navigating the challenges of working in the highly regulated payments domain. Experience you’ll bring Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education with 1+ years work experience. Solid hands-on experience developing applications using Java, Springboot, REST APIs Experience with event-driven microservices architecture using Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka Strong database skills (SQL, Postgres, Liquibase) Demonstrable CI/CD experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Have experience writing modern software deployed in the cloud Are comfortable with encryption schemes, modern APIs, and frameworks Have worked on agile teams to deliver software iteratively Are a highly adaptable, versatile, and dependable member of a highly agile and dynamic software engineering team. Drive a test-driven development approach and be happy to work and take responsibility for any stage within the software development life-cycle as required. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
