For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will guide the engineering efforts behind a digital quoting experience, with a focus on scalable solutions, operational reliability, and strong collaboration across product and technical teams. The manager will help translate business priorities into executable technical plans while maintaining quality, consistency, and change control standards. This position also partners closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to support tooling, automation, and proactive issue management in a fast-paced retail environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $140,000 – $240,000 annually

Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional collaboration to develop scalable software solutions Ensure adherence to quality and change control standards Automate infrastructure and monitoring services through custom coding Manage vendor relationships for critical tooling implementation Create dashboards and alerts for proactive issue management Drive consistency across product teams through review board participation Support engineers and product teams by addressing technical queries Qualifications 5-7 years of relevant work experience in software engineering Mastery of an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java Proficiency in a modern scripting language, preferably Python Experience with modern web application frameworks like Ruby on Rails or Node.js Strong SQL query writing skills Experience mentoring junior engineers and managing team dynamics Ability to translate high-level strategy into tactical execution
